Baden-Powell and King George V
at the Windsor Rally, 1911

From: Baden-Powell,
Lessons from the Varsity of Life, 1933

In Adventures and Accidents Baden-Powell described this event as "one of the most thrilling moments of my life." 33,000 Scouts were assembled in Windsor Great Park for a review by the King. It was the largest recorded gathering of youth in Britain until that time.

The ribbon on the left displays the colors of the
King George V Coronation Medal awarded to Baden-Powell for his participation in the Coronation on June 22, 1911.
