B-P at the Fifth World Jamboree

The was to be Baden-Powell’s last Jamboree. He died at his home in Kenya on January 8th, 1941. At the time of the Jamboree, Lord Somers was the Deputy Chief Scout. Upon B-P’s death, he became the Chief Scout of the British Commonwealth and Empire. The Jamboree planned for 1941 was never held due to the war.
